We would like to begin by acknowledging that the land on which we gather is the traditional unceded territory of the Ktunaxa and Kinbasket Peoples.
Five First Nations bands are located in the regional boundary of Selkirk Secondary School. Four bands are Ktunaxa and one is Secwepemc (Shuswap). We are grateful to have the opportunity to work in this territory.

Resources
A collection of FNMI literature consulted throughout the process. The ‘Attitudes’ strategies of Doorley and Witthof’s (2012) philosophy in Make Space was the structure and guiding principle of this project as well as other literature on design space and creative thinking.

Vanessa Pavan
I am a fifth year Bachelor of Education in Social Studies and Bachelor of Arts in History student at the University of Lethbridge. This page is dedicated to my PSIII Professional Inquiry Project "'The Dorm': FNMI Design Space Learning in High School". My passion for Social Studies and student centered learning created the perfect storm for this inquiry project. Creating this space allowed me to develop professionally, and to build horizontal connections throughout the community. Please check out my professional portfolio and classroom website for more information.
